Flower Filled

This is a fairly basic card, and is pretty much copied from the SU! Inspiration Sheet for this set:

Stamps: Flower Filled, All Year Cheer I
Ink: Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery
Paper: Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessories: Crafter's Tool Kit, Eggplant grosgrain ribbon, 1/8" hole punch

I like creating the border with the paper piercing tool - it gives you a totally different look than if you'd done it with a layer of paper or with an inked line of some sort. Simple, but still pretty, and something that can be whipped out pretty quickly for those card-giving emergencies. You know you have 'em.

Dazzling Diamond Dust, again

This time with different colors:

Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Wonderful Words
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow, Handsome Hunter, Versamark
Paper: Lovely Lilac, Sage Shadow, Glossy White
Accessories: Iridescent Ice embossing powder, heat tool

Yes, it's the same card as the last one, but I loved it so much that I did it again, and just changed the colors. This one REALLY makes me happy, and will be one of my swap cards at the SU! convention this year. :)

Perhaps soon I'll pull out some other stamp sets. Just for fun.

Technique Challenge

Heartfelt Thanks - love

This was on SCS again, TLC62 - Dazzling Diamond Dust. I actually completed it a while ago, just never got around to scanning it. :) Details are:

Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Wonderful Words
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Cameo Coral, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Versamark
Paper: Cameo Coral, Bravo Burgundy, Glossy White
Accessories: Dimensionals, Iridescent Ice embossing powder

The technique goes like this: stamp your image in dye ink on glossy cardstock and allow to dry. Use Versamark to cover the entire piece, then sprinkle with Iridescent Ice embossing powder (or clear EP mixed with Dazzling Diamonds glitter), and shake off excess. Use heat tool to melt embossing powder. Of course, this is one of those that looks WAY better in person than online - glitter just doesn't look as good in a scan! Trust me, it's gorgeous. ;)
